STORY
Below are some pictures of a recent work day at Sahuaro Ranch. Ron Kinyon, Hap Danielson, Don Dumler, Kay Kofford and Doug Kluender spent a day mucking out the blacksmith shop and relocating the vises, forges and anvils to make it more suitable for demonstrations and classes.

The city of Glendale provided the decomposed granite, Member Greg Mastin donated the timbers for mounting the anvils. Kay Kofford donated the use of his back hoe and loader to remove the contaminated soil and dig holes to re-locate the anvils.

The new arrangement features 3 demonstration work stations directly in front of the bleachers. Each station has a coal forge, leg vise and an anvil mounted at a more suitable height. Re-locating these work stations also made room for 3 additional work stations under the roof for use when we hold classes.

The City has agreed help provide additional ventilation for the coal forges. Animal feed and watering facilities have been relocated to make the blacksmith shop more useable.
